Waypoint is currently seeking Senior Consultants for our projects in the Washington DC area. The Senior Consultant will have a proven track record in designing and implementing solutions that impact organizational performance and achieve measurable results.
Responsibilities:
- Synthesize overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions, selecting the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs
- Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope; develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope
- Design deliverable content to precisely reflect the engagement contract and client needs and strive to improve deliverable quality through verification and validation of results
- Participate in the assessment of the impact of change on organizations.
- Assist in the application of selected behavioral tools to assess organizational culture, performance, and readiness for change
- Analyze data and formulate the current- and future-state scenarios affecting business success
- Apply best practice information to support a business case for implementing high-yield opportunities for improvement
- Draft comprehensive change and transition plans, programs, and feedback tools, including communications strategies to support change initiatives and leadership
- Manage day-to-day client relationships at peer and senior client levels
The right candidate will possess functional expertise and be responsible for:
- Business process analysis/reengineering (BPR/Six Sigma/Lean, etc.), financial analysis and modeling, organizational & cultural analysis, activity-based costing, performance management, and related activities
- Project management and execution of large scale strategic improvement/change initiatives
- Project team management
- Process measurement system (scorecard) design and implementation
- Change management
- Workforce planning/succession planning
- Staffing allocation, utilization and shift configuration design
- Team dynamics and facilitation

Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of work experience in Consulting or a related industry with emphasis on business process analysis/reengineering, financial transformation and other performance improvement activities
- Minimum of 4 years experience leading project teams on relevant development or process improvement engagements
- Undergraduate degree in business, human resources, organizational change, finance, accounting or related discipline or 8 years equivalent professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills (e.g., use of Microsoft Excel and/or Access to analyze data).
- Strong presentation development and writing skills (e.g., proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint).
- U.S. public sector state government experience (either through state employment or consulting to state agencies) or equivalent federal government experience a plus.
- Experience in one of the following is a plus: Federal/Local Law Enforcement, Department of Defense or Health and Human Services
- Ability to travel 80-100% of the time
